PEACE I leave with you, My PEACE I give to you;
not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." John 14:27
Do you know that there is such a thing as a "peace that passes all understanding"?
It's that state where your mind, soul and spirit are at rest and in perfect calmness even in the midst of threats, fears, worries and any other form of disturbances.
It's when, in the midst of the world's noise, there's quietness in your spirit and you can still think straight and make right decisions.
It's when you can still listen and extend a hand to those in need even if you, yourself, are also in need. And that strength comes from that peace flowing from within.
The source of this kind of peace
Such peace comes from God alone. As Philippians 4:7 says "....and the peace of God which transcends all understanding, will guard your heart and your mind in Christ Jesus."
It is not dependent on the riches of this world which are all temporary, or in the power of a nation, which is very vulnerable. No one can boast of his riches, power, or fame, for such things are like "grass" that can wither and burn.
No other peace remotely compares with the peace that God offers. It is total, complete and absolute, a beautiful peace that never changes. Such PEACE began when Jesus Christ came into the world,
"... to shine on those living in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the path of PEACE." Luke 1:79
To know this peace is to know God. His grace, His love, His salvation, all summed up in one - in His Son, Jesus Christ. Only through Him could we find true peace, the peace of God and with God.
Romans 5:1 says, " Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into His grace in which we now stand."
Even in the midst of "storms", the peace of God can keep you at rest. No bad news, or troubles, or any distrubances, can shake you if you would put your trust in Him, because God Himself shall keep you.
Isaiah 26:3 says " You ( God ) will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is steadfast because he trusts in You." He's a strong tower, a tower of refuge, a shelter, whom we can always run to.That's how God is to those who come to Him. For great is His love towards us.
As the psalmist in Psalm 23 wrote :
"The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not be in want. He makes me lie down in green pastures, He leads me beside quiet waters, He restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for His name's sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me, your rod and your staff they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil, my cup overflows. Surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord, forever."
We can have this peace
Friend, God loves you that He gave His son Jesus to die for you that you may have that life of peace with Him. It is time for you to rise up and be delivered from fear, anxieties, and any form of struggle for this is not the life God wants you to have. Let Him save you. Only in believing in Jesus Christ and accepting Him in your life can this happen. You can pray this simple prayer now and let God keep you in His perfect peace. God bless you.
Lord Jesus, I want to have that life of peace you are offering. I confess that I am a sinner and ask your forgiveness for all my sins. I open my heart to you now and receive you there, to be the Lord and Savior of my life. Let my life now be lived according to your words that I may experience that life of peace and freedom that you are giving me. Thank you Lord. In your name Lord Jesus Christ, this I pray. Amen.
